West Ham Women vs. Chelsea Women: When the match will begin, how to watch live, and more!

 


The final game for Chelsea Women before the break will be a rescheduled encounter against West Ham United at Kingsmeadow in the middle of the week. Here in our preview, you'll find all the information you need to be aware of before the match. 


When: Wednesday, September 28, 7:05 p.m. at Kingsmeadow as The Blues take on West Ham United (UK time).


Jack Goodchilds Way will now be completely blocked off for all traffic from 90 minutes prior to kickoff until 60 minutes following the end of each game for fans traveling to Kingsmeadow.

The Form

The Blues' 2022–23 season got off to a sad start when we lost 2-1 at Liverpool on the opening day thanks to two second-half penalties. Fran Kirby gave Chelsea the lead just before halftime, and Maren Mjelde secured the three points from the penalty spot as Chelsea defeated fellow championship contenders Manchester City 2-0 in our first home game on Sunday. 


Contrarily, West Ham lost 2-0 to Manchester United at home in their most recent game on Sunday despite having a spirit-boosting home win over Everton in their season opener. 


West Ham United vs. Chelsea Women In their three encounters last season, Chelsea and West Ham had a recent women's head-to-head record, with the Blues winning all three games. 


The first was a 4-2 triumph in the Continental League Cup at the Chigwell Construction Stadium in January, followed a week later by a 2-0 victory in the Women's Super League at Kingsmeadow thanks to goals from Bethany England and Erin Cuthbert in the second half.


The most recent meeting was the away WSL match in March, which we easily won 4-1 thanks to goals from Pernille Harder (2), Niamh Charles (3), and Sam Kerr.

The Women's Super League is suspended for two weeks following this match as the athletes depart for the international break. On Sunday, October 16, Chelsea Women will resume play when we travel to Everton for a WSL match. Kickoff is at 1pm.
