Kepa is appreciating Potter's support as Chelsea's keeper keeps up his excellent play.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, who put in another great performance in Chelsea's 0-0 draw with Brentford on Wednesday, is appreciating Graham Potter's confidence in him.

Despite struggling to generate chances and dropping points in the Premier League for the first time under Potter, Chelsea can thank Kepa for keeping their winning streak under the former Brighton and Hove Albion manager.

Chelsea kept their sixth straight clean sheet across all competitions thanks to Kepa's five saves, three of which were made to stop Ivan Toney.

The Spaniard, who supposedly had no use for him under Potter's predecessor Thomas Tuchel, has just been given a second chance and is enjoying his time on the field.

"I feel great and am both comfortable with and without the ball. Kepa responded, "I'm glad because I feel like I'm supporting the squad when they need it.

Of course, every player requires this confidence boost, but in my opinion, the goalie requires it even more during periods of continuity.

"Practice is not the same as game time for a goalie when they are not participating. I must continue moving forward and working.

"We are unhappy because, in my opinion, they missed their chances while we did, and since for the past fifteen minutes, we were playing constantly in their box. We feel as though we lost two points."

Chelsea has produced eight shutouts in their last 11 away London derbies in the Premier League, winning nine of those games, while Kepa has preserved five clean sheets in eight outings this season (in all competitions) (D1 L1).

Though Thomas Frank's resolute opponents only allowed Chelsea to score on five of their fourteen shots (36%) and three of those came after the 85th minute.

Potter, who refused to be critical of his team's performance despite the Blues' lack of innovation, told Amazon Prime: "We are always upset when we don't win, but over the length of the game, a point is about fair.

"We expected a really tough game. We contributed all, and the spirit is excellent for us. With our schedule, it's not easy, but the guys gave it their all, and I'm proud of them.

"In the first half, we intended to do a little bit better, but you have to give credit to your opponent."

Conor Gallagher was replaced after 15 minutes, which appeared to be another injury setback for Chelsea, but Potter later said the English midfielder felt sick and should return soon.

Potter stated of Gallagher, "I haven't spoken to the doctors, but he just felt ill." "He thought he was going to be sick, so hopefully it's just a 24-hour thing and he will be okay."
