Graham Potter's job security at Chelsea questioned

After Chelsea's 2-0 loss to Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge, Graham Potter's odds to be the next Premier League manager fired have been reduced by the bookies.

The manager oversaw his team's first loss in five games, but the loss sent his club to the bottom part of the standings and kept them winless against a team that had been ranked higher than them earlier in the day. In the meantime, Bayern Munich's Thomas Tuchel, a fan favorite, led the Bundesliga in Germany, adding insult to injury.

Potter has already experienced a great deal of pressure at Chelsea, although he briefly calmed things down with a run of three straight victories prior to the break. Nevertheless, this was hardly the response the head coach was looking for after the late 2-2 draw with Everton cast doubt once more over his future.

Unai Emery's team earned three points after halftime thanks to goals from Ollie Watkins and John McGinn, leaving Chelsea and Potter stuck in 11th place. The stadium's spectators once more voiced their displeasure by booing the team at halftime and the end of the game, despite the fact that most of them had already left.

This negative sentiment is echoed by the bookmakers at SW6. The odds on Potter losing his job have dropped from 11/1 to 10/3 on Betfair. It is a significant change from how he began the day, even though he is still not the favorite to replace Brendan Rodgers or David Moyes.

"Chelsea tumbled out of the top 10 following a 2-0 home loss to Aston Villa on Saturday evening, which will only increase the pressure on Graham Potter's position," said Betfair spokeswoman Sam Rosbottom. Potter's chances of becoming the next manager in the top division to resign have dropped from 11/1 to 10/3.

Those predicted to take over as the next permanent hotshot haven't altered all that much in the interim. Mauricio Pochettino remains the favorite, while Zinedine Zidane is now farther back at 6/1, moving into second place behind former Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann.
